Cause of Her Death in Doubt

Mrs. Alice Conklin was found burned to death near her home in Oskaloosa July 10. After burial it was rumored that she had not committed suicide, as had been found by the coroner’s jury. The body was exhumed, and Floyd Davis, an expert chemist, was called in, who filed his report, finding that Mrs. Conklin had been dead from other causes when her body was burned, but that poison had no agency in her death. The case will go to the grand jury.
