Jesse Willard (Bill) Courtney died Dec. 3, 2003 in Tulsa Okla.

He was born Oct. 5, 1919 near What Cheer, Mahaska Co., to Lon and Stella Courtney. He attended Fisher Grade School and What Cheer High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Virginia Weldon in Valdosta, Georgia and they were later divorced.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary, sons, Christopher and Billie, by his parents, three brothers, Bob, Glen and Jim.

He is survived by his daughter, Ginger Curtis; his sisters, Frances Karsten and Edith Lane; his brothers, Don, Gene, and Roscoe Courtney. Graveside interment of cremains were held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
