Mrs. Etna Alma Newell, 72, lifetime resident of this vicinity, died at 1 AM today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Brown, Ottumwa, Route 5, after an illness of several months.

She was born May 5, 1870, the daughter of Boyd and Olivia Kelly.

Survivors include four sons; Zackie Newell, University Park; Kirk Newell, Ottumwa Route 5; Dave Newell, Blakesburg; and George Newell of South St. Paul Minnesota; four daughters, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Beryl Drummond, Ottumwa, Mrs. Don Witzke, Decorah, and Mrs. Willis Shaw, Albia Route 3; 32 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and a sister, Mrs. J. L. Moore, Kirkville.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Sunday at the community funeral service Chapel, and burial will be in the Eddyville Cemetery. The body is at the community funeral service.
