George Burdock Rites Tuesday

OSKALOOSA, Ia.-Services for George E. Burdock, 60, will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Newman Funeral home here. Burial will be in Forest cemetery in Oskaloosa.

Burdock died in his sleep Friday night at his home in Des Moines. He was owner of the Burdock Lumber Co., which includes lumber yards in Oskaloosa, Brighton and Washington.

Burdock was a former mayor of Oskaloosa. He moved to Windsor Heights in the Des Moines area in 1952. Surviving are his wife and three sons, William E., George A. and Michael S., all of Des Moines.

A sister and three brothers also survive.
