CHARLES LEONARD PADGETT

Charles L. Padgett, 73, 602 N. Market St., died Sunday at the Mahaska County Hospital. He was born Feb. 5, 1907 to Samuel and Loretta Fay Blake Padgett. On April 2, 1949, he was married to Genevieve Hoover in Lancaster, Mo. He was a carpenter by trade.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Charles William of Oskaloosa; one daughter, Geneva Lillian Padgett of Des Moines; and four sisters, Mrs. Larry (Rozetta) O'Leary of Bullhead, Ariz., Mrs. Mary Davis of Calif., Mrs. Nancy Moore of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. Martha Anderson of Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Powers Funeral Home in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Max Johnson officiating. Burial will be at the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
