FLORENCE MICK

Florence M. Mick, 79, of 609 4th Avenue East, Oskaloosa, died on Saturday, April 9, 1994 at Siesta Park Nursing Home in Oskaloosa. She was born June 15, 1914 at Farson, the daughter of Alvertus and Celia Longerbone Ramey. She married Arvene "Tom" Mick on Sept. 19, 1943 at Lancaster, Mo. He died on Sept. 22, 1977. She was employed as a sales clerk at the old Graham's Department Store in Oskaloosa for many years, until the store closed. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa; Endeavor Circle, King's Daughters; Order of the Eastern Star; and a former member of the Harrold White Shrine.

She is survived by a niece, Jill Ramey of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a nephew, Dr. Jacques Ramey of Norfolk, Va. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Esther Bates; and two brothers, Joe and Zearl Ramey.

Funeral services will held Tuesday, April 12 at 11 a.m. at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, with the Rev. William Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. Visitation is open today at the funeral home, with the family present this evening, 7-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home
