Diane Joy Bandstra of Oskaloosa died Tuesday night, July 28, 1992 of injuries received in an automobile accident four miles east of Pella.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 31 at the Leighton Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. Isaac Meuzelaar and the Rev. Donald Draayer, chaplain of Dordt College, conducted the services. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery near Leighton. Bates Funeral Home in Oskaloosa handled arrangements.
Survivors are her parents, Bert and Elaine Bandstra of rural Oskaloosa; a brother, Alan of Sioux Center; two sisters, Sharon (Mrs. Royce) Spoelstra of New Sharon, and Bonnie Bandstra of Grand Rapids, Michigan; her maternal grandparents, Leo and Bess Van Dusseldorp of Prairie City, and her paternal grandparents, Paul E. and Beulah Bandstra of Oskaloosa. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, and a nephew, Joshua Spoelstra of New Sharon.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents.
Miss Bandstra would have been a senior at Dordt College in Sioux Center, majoring in elementary education. She was active in the Dordt Concert Choir, theater arts, and had been a member of the Dordt Repertory Theater. This summer she was employed by the Christian Opportunity Center and Country Kitchen, both in Pella.
She was a member of the Leighton Christian Reformed Church.
The daughter of Bert E. and Ruth Elaine Van Dusseldorp Bandstra, she was born May 24, 1971 at Oskaloosa. She graduated from Oskaloosa Christian Grade School, and was a 1989 graduate of Pella Christian High School.
