Lynnville Services for Etta H. Potter

Lynnville - Etta May Hess Potter, age 88, died Friday, March 24, at Tower Park nursing home in Oskaloosa. She was born in Richland township, Sept. 20, 1872, the daughter of O.G. and Ruth Hess.
She and her husband, Charles Potter, who survives, observed their 69th wedding anniversary in Oskaloosa on Feb. 11 of this year. They were residents of Lynnville vicinity all their lvies with the exception of three years when they lived on a farm near Granville.
Since April 1, 1955, when Mrs. Potter suffered a stroke, she resided in Oskaloosa, first at a hospital and later at Tower Park nursing home. She was an invalid since that time, never fully regaining consciousness.
Mrs. Potter was the last of a family of five children. Survivng is the husband Charles Potter; a son, Ray Potter of Lynnville; two grandsons, two great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.
She was a member of the Christian church at Peoria and later attended Methodist church at Lynnville and Friends church. She was also a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Rebekahs.
Services were held Sunday, March 26, at 2 p.m. at Friends church in Lynnville with burial at Woodland cemetery. Rev. Jake Garbison and Rev. Max Brandt officiated with the Harden funeral home at New Sharon in charge of arrangements.
