Gegner - Frederick J. (Butch) Gegner, age 41, of 610 North 10th Street, died Tuesday, June 5, 1962 at the Veterans' hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient for eight weeks.
Born and raised in Oskaloosa, he had been an engineer for the past ten years for the Iowaa Valve. He graduated from Oskaloosa high school in 1938 and attend Iowa State college at Ames for two years and the State University of Iowa in Iowa City. Gegner was called into the service during his second year at the University.
He was a member of the American Legion, Elks and Saddle club.
Surviving is the wife, Bernice Alcorn Gegner, a daughter, Barbara, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gegner, all of Oskaloosa.
Services are pending at Powers funeral home.
