JOE GILBERT DIES SAT. IN CALIFORNIA

Joe Gilbert, former Mahaska county and Iowa teacher, now of Eureka, Calif., suffered a fatal heart attack Saturday night, May 7, in Sacramento, Calif. His mother and sister, Mrs. Laura Gilbert and Zilpha of University Park, had arrived Saturday in Sacramento to visit their son and brother and his family and were with him when he became ill. Mr. Gilbert was a teacher in the Eureka schools.

Other survivors are his wife, Beulah, a daughter, Beverly, and two grandchildren.

Services were held today, Wednesday, at 3 p.m. in Eureka.
