Miss Gilbert, former Swedish masseur, was born at Garden Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Archer and Laura Violetta Sheline Gilbert. In her early childhood her parents moved from Garden Grove to Grinnell where the family resided on North Prince Street. She attended Grinnell grade schools and received her education here.

When she was 20 years of age, the family moved to Oskaloosa where, since 1917, they resided at 2009 Sixth Avenue East.

She is survived by her mother, who resided with her; and a niece, Mrs. Beverly Schriber (Schreiber) of Eureka, Calif.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 14th, from the Powers funeral home at Oskaloosa with J. Sutherland Logan, president of Vennard College, and the Rev. Nelson Moredock officiating. Interment was in University Park cemetery.

At the time of the fatal accident, Miss Gilbert was riding in a car with Mr. and Mrs. Everett Sparrow of Rte. 1, Keswick. It collided with another vehicle driven by Mrs. Warren McBurney of Cedar.
