William L. Haines, 58, died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday, November 29, 1949, at his home in Fremont [Mahaska Co., IA]. He was a former auto salesman in Oskaloosa [Mahaska Co., IA].

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse HAINES and grew up in Cedar [Mahaska Co., IA] which was the family home. A veteran of World War I, he served overseas in France. He was a member of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Elks and the Eagles.

Survivors include two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Ora Burch and Homer Haines of Fremont and Mrs. Kathryn Tribby of Rhodes.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Cedar Methodist church with the Rev. Lois Payne in charge. Burial in Cedar township cemetery [Mahaska Co., IA].
