Frank Randell

FREEMONT—Frank Gilmore Randell, 73, farmer at Cedar, died Friday at 12:10 p.m. at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.

The son of Charles Wesley and Anna Mabel Welch Randell, he was born Nov. 21, 1901, in Mahaska County and lived in the Cedar community all his life. He was a graduate of the Cedar High School.

He was married to Jennetta Van Iperen Dec. 16, 1924, in Ottumwa and she died Aug. 12, 1973.

He was a member of the Cedar United Methodist Church, Oskaloosa Rotary Club, Knights of Pythias, Mahaska County Historical Society, was a member of the board of directors of Farmers Savings Bank at Fremont, Southern Iowa Fair, Farm Service Company, Crown Bowl and Quad County Grain, Inc., was past president of Mahaska County Farm Bureau, a past member of the board of directors of Mahaska County Hospital and was a member of the Mahaska County Republican Central Committee.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Vivian Dupy of Creve Coeur, Mo., and Mrs. Robert Ashman of Grinnell; one son, C. Wesley Randell of Cedar Falls; one foster son, Bill Keeran of Cedar; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one brother, Raymond of Oskaloosa.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, one brother and one sister.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Cedar Unite4d Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard Cho officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial has been established by the family payable to the Frank Randell Memorial Fund of the Cedar United Methodist Church.
