H. Claude Peer, 84, of Earlham died of a heart attack Sunday at Madison County Hospital in Winterset. Services will be graveside at 10:30 a.m. today in Earlham Cemetery.

Mr. Peer was born in Weston and lived in Earlham 65 years. He retired as a lawyer in the law firm Peer Nelson Braland. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and a member of Earlham Masonic Lodge, American Legion and county, state and national bar associations.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; a son, Stephen of Suwanee, Ga.; a sister, Margrette Nelson of Earlham; a grandchild; and a step-grandchild.

Memorial contributions may be made to Earlham Rescue Unit. Kuhn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
