County News – St. Charles

Mrs. Gettys died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Gripp, at Bayard. Her body was brought here Saturday evening where it remained at Reed’s undertaking parlor, until Monday when the funeral was conducted by Rev. A. E. George of Mitchellville, assisted by Rev. Mitchell. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery.

Those from a distance attending the funeral of Mrs. Gettys Tuesday were Mr. and Mrs. John McWhister of Colfax; Mr. and Mrs. John McWhister, Jr., and family of Northfield, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew McWhister of Jackson, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jones of Colfax; Mr. and Mrs. William Mullinix of Colfax; Mr. and Mrs. Victor McWhister and family of Newton; Mr. and Mrs. William Shull of Ames; Margaret Gettys of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Gripp of Bayard; Maurice Gettys of Madrid; Mrs. Sadie Hardenbrook of Newton; Mrs. John Luther, Everett Wilson, Robert Wilson of Colfax.
