Laura McEwen passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Calvin Community in Des Moines, IA. A gathering of Family & Friends will be held on Friday, July 1st from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., in the atrium at Calvin Community, 4210 Hickman Rd, Des Moines.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, 321 Euclid, Des Moines. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Laura is survived by four daughters, Phyllis (Robert) Kaldenberg, Winterset, IA, Alice McEwen, Waco, TX, Betty McEwen (Bill King), Spring Hill, KS and Joyce (Dennis) Dutton, Whitney, TX. She had 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Effie Decker, brothers Alton Decker, Lloyd Decker, B. Russel Decker, Myron Decker and Wayne Decker; a daughter, Nancy McEwen and an infant grandson, Billy Hunerdosse. Blessed was her family that she was a part of their lives and she will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Calvin Community's Good Samaritan Fund, Unity Point Hospice, or Highland Park Presbyterian Church.
