Maria Fett, deceased, was born January 17, 1840, in Salt Creek township, Holmes county, Ohio. She was the daughter of Isaac Snyder and Margaret-nee-Holderbaum.

In 1869 she was united in marriage with Mr. Phillip Fett, a widower. Mr. Fett died 14 years ago, since which time she has made her home with her children and later staying with her sons, Eli and William. She died at the home of her son William.

She leaves to mourn her death three sons, William Louis and Eli of Dexter, Ia., and one daughter, Mrs. Oscar Vogel of Stuart, Ia., two stepdaughters, Mrs. Charlotte Gindelsberger of Ohio, Mrs. Elizabeth Scar of Earlham and three stepsons, Philip and Frederick of Adair and Henry of Dexter, and a number of grandchildren and other relatives.

Her final ailment was pneumonia, her death coming on Tuesday evening, January 11, 1910, at 8 o’clock, aged 69 years, 11 months and 14 days.

Mrs. Fett was a faithful and consistent member of the Evangelical Lutheran church.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 14, 1910, at 10 o’clock at the home of William Fett and at 10:45 o’clock at the German Evangelical Lutheran church in Dexter. She was buried in the cemetery at Penn Center at the side of her husband. Rev. H. Schmidt conducted the funeral services.

The pall bearers were John H. Clausen, Paul Clausen, J. A. Marsh, Jacob Arnold, Jacob Fillman and Henry Willrich.
