Larry Lee Filloon, 71, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away June 2, 2015 at Freedom Plaza Care Center in Peoria, Arizona. He was the first born to Warren and Ethel (Addy) Filloon of Toledo, Iowa on June 5, 1943.
He worked as a butcher in his young adulthood, and then he worked as a carpet/tile installer for many years until going to work for Target Stores where he worked in building services until he retired in 2008.
He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Arizona State Sun Devils fan as well as all other Arizona professional sports teams. He continued to follow the Iowa college teams as well. He also appreciated Arizona history and the scenery after moving to Arizona in 1983.
He married the love of his life, Donna Lee Lane in July 1962 in Earlham, Ia. and to them were born two daughters, Terry Lee Filloon of Denver, Co. and Lyrrae Filloon Wortham of Phoenix, Az. He was blessed with two very handsome grandsons, Taylor O’Neal Wortham and Trystan James Wortham, of Phoenix, Az. Larry is survived by his sister, Margaret Filloon Williams (Phillip) of Toledo, Ia., brother, Phillip Filloon (Connie) of Tama, Ia., sister, Becky Filloon Wehrman (Gary) of Marshalltown, Ia., sisters-in-law Stella Lane of Des Moines, Ia., LaVona Lane Hollander (Jim) of Winterset, Ia., and brother-in-law Dean Lane (Connie) of Earlham, Ia., several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends in both Iowa and Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law Donna Belle Lane Miller, father-in-law Bud Lane and brother-in-law Tom Lane.
A Celebration of Life will be held both in Phoenix and in Iowa at a later date. A memorial fund is being established with the cancer society. Condolences can be sent to Donna Filloon 8620 W Whitton Ave., Phoenix, Arizona 85037. He was a great son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all and he will be deeply missed. Rest in peace.
