News of Interest from St. Charles

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Methodist church for George Darr, 75, who passed away at his home in Fort Des Moines Wednesday morning. He had lived in and near St. Charles a number of years, although he has resided in Des Moines for many years.

He is survived by his wife and six children and a number of grandchildren. His funeral was conducted by Rev. H. V. Smith of Fort Des Moines Methodist church, assisted by Rev. Smith of the local church, and burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

George W. Darr Dies At Age 75

Funeral services for George W. Darr were held at the Methodist church in St. Charles Friday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. Lucius L. Smith. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

Mr. Darr, who was 75 years of age, was an early settler in the Broadhorn neighborhood, coming here with his parents from Indiana when two years of age.

Following his marriage to Miss Sarah Crawford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Crawford, he lived in South township, west of Hanley. After the death of his wife in 1906, and disposing of his farm, he moved to St. Charles. At the time of his death he was a resident of Des Moines.

He is survived by his widow, five children, Pearl of Paton, Ia.; Albert, Ray, Thomas and Mrs. Arlie Smith of Des Moines.
