MRS. CORA LEGGETT JAMES WAS BURIED AT ST. CHARLES LAST MONDAY

Several from here attended the funeral services at the M. E. church in St. Charles, Monday afternoon for Mrs. Cora Leggett James of Ft. Des Moines. Mrs. James lived near Truro for a number of years. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Arnold with interment in the St. Charles cemetery.

News of Interest from St. Charles

Mrs. Cora Leggett, 64, passed away on January 2nd, at her home in Fort Des Moines, after weeks of suffering from dropsy. She was reared in the vicinity of Truro, but lived in and around St. Charles many years, before moving to Des Moines several years ago.

She is survived by her husband, J. F. James and an adopted daughter, Margaret of Los Angeles, who came to be present at the funeral services which were held in the Methodist church at St. Charles, Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. F. Arnold of Deep River, assisted by Rev. Patterson, with burial in the St. Charles cemetery. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Porter and Mrs. Nellie Fulton of Truro, and one brother, Will Leggett of near Des Moines. Six nephews were pallbearers. Relatives from a distance who came for the funeral were H. R. Dowler of Casper, Wyoming, Clyde Miller and Mrs. Nella Pomeroy of Woodward, Mrs. Bertie Grimm of Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Volley Latta and children, of Madrid, Mr. and Mrs. Less Semon of Knoxville, Mr. and Mrs. Dell Semon and Miss Mildred Whitlock of Des Moines.

JAMES—Services for Mrs. Cora James will be held Tuesday noon at the residence, 1212 Army Post Road. Further services at 2 p. m. from the Methodist church at St. Charles, Ia. Interment, St. Charles. Hamilton service.
