SERVICES HELD FOR RICHARD EIVINS, 69

Richard Eivins, the son of John and Evelyn Eivins, was born on a farm in Clark county about ten miles southwest of Osceola, January 4, 1869 and died at his home west of Kent, September 29, (1938) at the age of 69 years.

Mr. Eivins when about 23 years of age went to Nebraska where he lived 17 years, then going to Idaho where he lived about a year near Boise. He returned to Iowa and settled on a farm near Kent, living there until 20 years ago when he moved to the farm where he died. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Rose Hucke, May 13, 1913. To this union was born one son.

Those who survive him are a son, Lyle; two step children, Helen and Dauton Hucke; brothers and three sisters; James M. of Salem, South Dakota; Miss Carrie Eivins of Macksburg; Benjamin of Mullen, Nebraska; Mrs. Sophrena Bates; Isaac, Alice Eivins and Elmer and Wesley all of Macksburg; 28 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. One brother, William and a sister, Elberta preceded him in death.

The funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church in Kent by the pastor, Rev. R. V. Felt. Burial was made in the Graceland cemetery in Creston.
