Peter Claus Quiring, 80, of Winterset, died September 26, 1995, at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. Funeral services were Sept. 26 at the Grace Baptist Church in Winterset. Pastor David Elmore and Pastor Geoffrey Safford officiated the services. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 18, 1915, to Claus P. and Aganetha (Wiebe) Quiring in Mountain Lake, Minn. He married Annie Ratzlaff in Mountain Lake, Minn. On June 7, 1938. He was a pastor and had received his general Bible Degree from Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, Neb., his B.A. at Bible Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind., and completed graduate studies at Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, Ind. He had served the following churches: Broadway Christian Chapel in Winona Lake, Ind., Open Door Mission, St. Louis, Mo. Grace Bible Church in Creighton, Neb., Friedensburg Mennonite Church in Avon, S.D., Bethel Baptist Church in Stanzel, and the First Congregational Church in Fontanelle. He had retired in 1993.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving relatives include his wife; one daughter, Nancy Safford and husband John of Winterset; one brother, Edward Quiring of Mountain Lake, Minn.; two sisters, Martha Pabst and husband Joseph of Mountain Lake, Minn., and Sarah Peters and husband Herbert of Seminole, Fla.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
