Tragic Death inWisconsin Accident Sunday Shocks This Community
Funeral services for Karen R. King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elton King of Winterset, were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was to be made in the Winterset cemetery.
The tragic death of Miss King, at the age of 21 years, in a highway accident Sunday near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin has shocked this entire community where she spent 15 years of her life.
A daughter of Elton and Fern Ross King, she was born at Cedar Rapids on October 11, 1938. She attended the Winterset schools, graduating from Winterset High School with honors, in the class of 1956.
She attended Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls for two years, and for the last two years had been teaching school at Eagle Grove.
In addition to her parents, her nearest surviving relative is her younger brother, Steven King.
