Long-Time Lee Township Resident Was 80 Years Of Age
Mrs. Mary L. King, member of a well-known Lee township family, died Saturday Nov. 10, at the Bishop Drumm home in Des Moines. She was 80 years of age. Death resulted from a heart ailment.
Mrs. King was the former Mary L. McNamara. She was born near Booneville on Jan. 2, 1880, and lived in Lee township until 1944, when she moved to West Des Moines. She had been at the Bishop Drumm home the last year.
Her husband, Patrick King, died in 1934. Six of her children preceded her in death also.
She leaves two sons, Leo King of Booneville and Vincent King of West Des Moines; two daughters, Mrs. Don Hoover of Norwalk and Mrs. Kenneth Connors of West Des Moines; a brother, John McNamara of Des Moines; and two sisters, Mrs. Tom Swallow of Des Moines and Mrs. Homer Bales of Adel.
Funeral services were held Monday from Sacred Heart Catholic church in West Des Moines. Burial was made in St. John's cemetery at Cummings.
