Walter "Bud" Hendricks, Winterset

Funeral services for Walter C. "Bud" Hendricks, Jr. 44, were held April 27 at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Don Frank officiating. Mr. Hendricks died April 24, 1993, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

He was born October 19, 1948, in Winterset to Walter and Vyrle (Silliman) Hendricks. He married Kathy Wilson on June 7, 1969 in Winterset. He was the owner and operator of Village Bootery Shoe Store in Winterset. An active community member, he was a past president of the Lions's Club and was a member of the Winterset Jaycees, the Winterset Booster Club, the Chamber of Commerce, the Winterset Little League Board, the Lakeview Country Club Board, the Winterset Alumni Association, and the Iowa Shoe Retailers Club. He also was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Hendricks was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Vyrle Hendricks of Winterset; his wife, Kathy of Winterset; two sons, Jeff and Tom Hendricks, both of Winterset; one daughter, Abby Hendricks of Winterset; three brothers, Don Hendricks of LeMars, Robert and Greg Hendricks, both of Winterset; and three sisters, Doris Coen of St. Joseph, Mo., Marliss Koehler of LeMars and Jean Berger of Des Moines.
