WILLIAM A RYNER

Services for William A. Ryner, 68, Winterset, who died July 4 at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Knoxville, were held Tuesday July 7, at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. David Bauer officiating. Burial was at the North McDonald Cemetery. Military graveside services were held by the American Legion post.

Mr. Ryner was born in Winterset Aug. 11, 1918, ths son of Willie and Edith May Woods Ryner. He was married to Mary Catherine Kelly on Nov. 25, 1941 at Churchville.

Mr. Ryner was a lifetime resident of the area and had retired from farming. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, the American Legion, a member and national treasurer of the National Farmers Organization from 1955 to 1962 and a member of the Farmers Union. He was a member of the Madison County Democrats and county chairman since 1982. He also served as a member of the Winterset-Madison County Aviation Authority board since 1972 to 1973.

Survivors include his wife; sons, Richard of Indianola, Larry of Indipendence, Mo., and Daniel of Winterset; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and an infant sister.
