August 15, 2001Everett Wesley Agan, 83, of Winterset died of a stroke Aug. 8, 2001, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 11, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemeery.
Everett Agan was born Aug. 6, 1918, in Des Moines to Wesley Rudolphus and Mildred (Cooper) Agan. He married Mary Stephenson on Sept. 1, 1946, in Madison County. He had been a machinist for Solor Aircraft and a mechanic for Lockheed Aircraft. He also had farmed. A Navy veteran of World War II, Everett had been a member of the Peru United Methodist Church, Kiwanis and Farm Bureau. He had spent most of his life in Madison County.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Winterset; three sons, John Agan (wife Mary) of Las Vegas, Nev., Jim Agan (wife Barbara) of Des Moines and Dale Agan (wife Connie) of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Peggy Phillips (husband Dennis) of Peru; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
