Edna A. Wolverton, 95, died of respiratory failure Oct. 12, 2000, at Integrated Health Services in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Edna Wolverton was born Oct. 25, 1904 to John and Leona (Vannatta) Datwyler of Buckley, Ill. She married William Ray Wolverton on June 18, 1929 in Winterset. Prior to her marriage, she taught rural school in Madison County. Edna was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Clover Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter-in-law, three brothers, two sisters and twin granddaughters.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne L. Wolverton of Des Moines and Doyle R. Wolverton (wife Dorothy) of Lilncoln, Neb.; a daugher, Marla K. Giuliano (husband Joseph) of McLean, Va.; a sister, Velma Struve of Irwin; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
