Funeral services for Harry Carl Eichner of 728 W. Green St. were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, 1980, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter with Rev. E. A. Breiholz officiating. Burial was at the Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Eichner died Monday, May 26, at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 82. He had been a patient at Villa West Care Center for the past two months.

Born on Feb. 9, 1896, in Madison County, he was the son of Conrad and Barbara Gittelbauer Eichner. He was united in marriage to Cora Smith on Jan. 25, 1930, at Zion Lutheran Church in Des Moines. His wife preceded him in death in 1960.

After their marriage, they lived and farmed in Madison and Dallas Counties. Mr. Eichner had lived with his daughter Peggy in Winterset since 1968. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter for over 20 years.

He is survived by his daughter Peggy of Winterset. Also preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and five sisters.
