Avery W. Macumber, a farmer in Lincoln township, affiliated with Ord Christian Union Church, died Friday Oct 14, 1977, at the age of 66. He died at his home.

The son or Ora and Ella (Kennedy) Macumber, Avery Macumber was born April 5, 1911 in Lincoln township. His life was spent in Madison County. He was active in both community and church affairs.

Mr. Macumber's marriage to Helen Leander took place September 6, 1947, at the Little Brown Church. She survives her husband. Also surviving is one son; Philip A. Macumber of Winterset; three grandchildren and two sisters, Iris Macumber of Dayton, Ohio and Ruth Follmer of Stanley, Iowa. Mr. Macumber was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Avery Macumber were conducted Monday October 17 at 10 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Dwight Ingram officiating. Burial was made at the Clark Cemetery.
