Services for Samuel E. Weeks, 72, rural Macksburg, who died Jan. 16 at his home, were held Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Ganzel officiating. Burial was at the Pleasantview Cemetery.

Born in Madison County on Oct. 21, 1912, he was the son of Elbert and Mary (Ellison) Weeks. He was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of the Methodist Church. He was a past director of the Winterset Co-op; director and secretary of Iowa Beef Producers Association; the ASC; and a 4-H leader for many years.

On Nov. 16, 1950 he married Doris Parsons at Osceola.

Survivors include his wife; sons, John of rural Winterset, Dale and wife Vikki of rural Winterset, Dean of Franklintown, Pa., and David and wife Debbie of rural Macksburg; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
