WARREN TRAVIS

Funeral services for Warren B. Travis, 83, were conducted Friday, September 22 at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home. He died Wednesday September 20, 1978, at Villa West Care Center.

Mr. Travis was a retired farmer. He left that occupation in 1971. He was born June 25, 1895 in Kansas, the son of Thomas and Alice (Bird) Travis.

Mr. Travis was a lifetime resident of this county. He was affiliated with the Peru Methodist Church and a member of the Madison County Sportsmen's Club.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Fern (Woodward) Travis. The marriage took place April 7, 1917 in Winterset. Mr. Travis was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sharleen in 1934; and several brothers and sisters.

Officiating at Friday's funeral was Rev. Byron Ayers of Winterset. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
