EVELYN I. HARDEN

Evelyn I. Harden, 84, of Macksburg died of cancer Jan. 20, 1999 at Winterset Care Center North.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 22 at Macksburg United Methodist Church with Pastors Neil Platon and Bill Branson officiating. Burial was at Moon Cemetery near Macksburg.

Evelyn Harden was born April 4, 1914 to J. C. and Mary (Catterlin) Thompson of Macksburg. Her marriage to Virgil Adams took place Aug. 10, 1934. He preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1964. Her second marriage to Clare "Shorty" Harden took place Feb. 2, 1968. Evelyn, a homemaker, was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church. U.M.W., Hawthorne Rebekah Lodge 350 and the Women's Relief Corps (W.R.C.)

Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, one son and one daughter.

She is survived by three daughters, Beth Lannon (husband Jim) of LeClaire, Nancy Ortman (husband Lee) of Bella Vista, Ark., and Cindy Jensen (husband John) of Solon; five sons, Bill Adams (wife Shirley) of Oakland, Phil Adams of Winterset, Jim Adams (wife Shirley) of Bettendorf, Mike Adams of Irondale, Mo., and Jack Adams (wife Patti) of Port Byron, Ill.; one sister, Phyllis Kirkland of Winterset; two brothers, John Thompson (wife Bette) of Omaha, Nebr., and Sam Thompson of Patterson; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset.
