Betty Mae Boyd, 69, of Winterset died July 12, 2003, at her home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 15, at the Earlham Friends Church with Pastor Linda Burnett officiating. Burial was at Booneville Cemetery.
Betty Boyd was born Oct. 4, 1933, to Morris and Opal (Sheets) Wheeldon of Earlham. She was a graduate of Earlham High School. On Dec. 16, 1952, she married William Boyd in Mount Ayr. Betty worked for the Parker Brother Games Company for several years and also at the Earlham Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bobby Dale Wheeldon, Ralph Wheeldon and infant Donald Lavern; a sister, Dorothy Stanley, and a granddaughter, Shannon Boyd.
She is survived by her husband, William of Winterset; three sons, Rocky Boyd of Stuart and Rod Boyd and Mike Boyd, both of Des Moines; two daughters, Patti Boyd of Des Moines and Debbie Black of Dexter; four sisters, Marie Jay of Helendale, Calif., Jean Boots of Atlantic, Mary Travis of South Gate, Calif., and Ellen Thompson of Albany, Mo.; a brother, Richard Wheeldon of Lorimor; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
