Edmund C. Porter, 79, of Perry died of a kidney ailment Sunday at Rowley Memorial Masonic Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. at McLaren's Funeral Chapel, with burial at Moon Cemetery in Macksburg.

Mr. Porter was born in Adair County and lived in Perry the past three years. He was a retired enforcement officer for the Internal Revenue Service and a member of the Masonic-Gnemth Lodge, Internatinal Order of Oddfellows, and Maple Grove Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Carl of Colorado Springs, Colo., two daughters, Margaret Ball of West Des Moines and Velma Doyle of Columbus, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Graf of Olathe, Kan. and Katherine Bancroft of Chiefton, Fla.; a brother William of Avon Park, Fla.; a sister, Irene Breckenridge of Orient; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where a Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
