Ann Winjum, 67, of Winterset died Thursday March 3, 2005 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

A funeral Mass took place on Monday March 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset with Father Chris Hartshorn officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Ann was born to Donavan Thompson and Theresa Alvardao on August 23, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Francis O. Winjum on December 27, 1959 in Winterset. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Women's Altar Society, numerous church groups, American Legion Auxiliary, Sunshine Garden, Music Club and the Winterset Art Center. She was given the Valiant Women Award by Church Women United in 2004.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents.

She was survived by her husband; three sons, Michael O. Winjum of Des Moines, Michael D. Winjum of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Donald K. Winjum of Woodward; a daughter, Kristin Selsor of Winterset; four brothers, David and Michael Thompson, both of California, and Steve and Phillip Thompson, both of Arizona; three sisters, Nancie Mulder of Missouri, Donna Kinnaman of Illinois and Louise Salgado of Illinois; and eight grandchildren.

Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset handled the arrangements.
