Carrie McBride, a life-long resident of Jefferson township, died Dec. 20, 1944, at the home of her nephew, R. Edward Baur.
Miss McBride was born of Scottish immigrant parents who settled in Jefferson township in the pioneer days of the early 1850s. They were Malcolm and Eleanor Hazen McBride.
When she was 11 years old her mother died, and she took over the responsibilities of the home and helped rear her younger brother, Lawrence, and her three sisters, Cora, Nelle, and Hettie.
Much of her adult life was spent in the home of her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Alexander.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Robert Baur, and six nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held last Friday from the Jefferson U. B. Church, in charge of the Rev. E. A. Elliott. Burial was made in the Fairview Cemetery.
