15 March 1995Ralph Orr Pinckney, 77, of Iowa Falls, formerly of Macksburg and Winterset, died March 10, 1995 at North Iowa Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.
The Rev. Thomas Butler officiated the services with burial at the Moon Cemetery in Macksburg.He was born Feb. 28, 1918 near Macksburg to George Edmond and Grace (Simmons) Pinckney. He married Edna Marie Kirkland in Greenfield on May 18, 1938. He was a retired printer for the Herald Index Newspaper at Eldora. He had been an ambulance attendant with Linn's Funeral Home. He was also a member and past Noble Grand and past Secretary of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Acturus Lodge #100 in Iowa Falls; a member and past Grand Counselor of the United Commercial Travelers Council 509 in Iowa Falls. a member and past President of the Pack-N-Go of United Commercial Travelers Council 509 in Iowa Falls; and a member of the Iowa Falls Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post 188 in Iowa Falls. He had served with the Army-Air Corps and was a World War II veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving relatives include his wife; two daughters, Diane Hepko and husband Jack of Rogers, Ark. and Dixie Jeffs and husband Everett of Bella Vista, Ark.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
