Clair E. "Doc" Draper, 79, of 613 S.E. Miller Ave. died of a heart attack Sunday in Davenport. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kale Funeral Home in Truro, with burial at Ebeneezer (Ebenezer) Cemetery in Madison County.

Mr. Draper was born in Peru and had been a parts manager with Hickland G. M. Power. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Indianola Heights Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Neva; a daughter, Sandra Turner of Davenport; a brother, Willis of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home. There will be a memorial service at 7 p.m. today at the church.

Clair "Doc" Draper, Des Moines

Clair E. Doc" Draper, 79, of Des Moines died of a heart attack Aug. 24, 1997 at the Radisson Hotel in Davenport. A memorial service was held at the Indianola Heights Christian Church. Funeral services were held Aug. 30, 1997 at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro with Rev. Jerry Crenshaw officiating. Burial was at Ebenezer Cemetery in Madison County.

He was born Aug. 2, 1918 in Peru to Nelson and Ruby (Marshall) Draper. He married Neva Priest on July 31, 1942 in Yuma, Ariz.

He was a parts manager of Hickland G. M. Power. He was a member of the Indianola Heights Christian Church and a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He also held office in the Tune Up Society.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son. Surviving relatives include his wife of Des Moines; one daughter, Sandra Turner of Davenport; one brother, Willis Draper of Des Moines; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
