Sunday, April 26, 1992Dale G. Travis, 77, of Truro died of a heart attack Friday at Des Moines General Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Peru United Methodist Church, of which he was a member.
Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Madison County.
Mr. Travis was born in Madison County and had lived in Truro since 1977. He was a farmer and a member of St. Charles Model Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; a daughter, Mary Ann Patterson of Cathedral City, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at Kale Funeral Home in Truro, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m.

Dale Gonseth Travis, was born Oct. 21, 1914, in Madison County to Derwin Martin and Marie Gonseth Travis and died April 24, 1992, at Des Moines General Hospital in Des Moines at age 77 following a heat attack.
Mr. Travis lived on the same farm where he was born, near Peru until his retirement in 1977 when he moved to Truro.
He married Anna E. Butt on Nov. 24, 1934, in Creston and they were the parents of two daughters, Patricia Irene and Mary Ann.
Mr. Travis was a member of the Model Lodge No. 315 A.F. & A.M. of St Charles and the United Methodist Church of Peru.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Patricia and sister, Irma Lewis.
Surviving Mr. Travis are his wife, Ann of Truro; daughter, Mary Ann Patterson of Cathedral City, Calif.; four grandchildren, Shelly Grandfield and her husband, Richard, of Lorimor, Melanie Patterson of LeMars, Stacey Patterson of Liberty, Mo. and Steven Kirk and his wife, Renee of North English and five great-grandchildren, Travis and Dustin Kirk and Jessica, Christopher and Nicholas Grandfield.
Services for Mr. Travis were Monday at the United Methodist Church in Peru, with the Rev. Dwayne Henrichs of Thayer officiating at the 10:30 a.m. service. The organist, Doris Johnson and soloist, Terry Smith provided the music selections, He Touched Me and How Great Thou Art.
Casket bearers were Ted Grauer, Fred Weisshaar, Lanny Wenck, Fred Gibson, Ronnie Williams and Larry Beeler.
