Dale "Tommy" Thomas of Afton, formerly of Macksburg, died March 28, 1992 at Greater Community Hospital, Creston.
(Joint services with his wife, Thelma) will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Macksburg United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ed Van Holland, pastor of the Macksburg and Hebron United Methodist Churches, will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Moon Cemetery, Macksburg. There is open visitation after noon today at the Stroud-Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral Home in Afton.
Mr. Thomas was born Feb. 21, 1909 in Macksburg to James and Eva (Whitworth) Thomas. He married Thelma Jorgensen in 1932 north of Winterset and she died on March 28, 1992 (also) He was a lifelong resident of Macksburg until moving to Afton in 1971. He was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church and the IOOF Lodge.
Survivors include a son, Robert D. (wife Jane) Thomas of Mount Ayr; two grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Eivins of Cedar Rapids.
