Gertrude Loretta Hudson, 92, of Winterset died May 22, 2005 at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26 at the Patterson Methodist Church with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. There will be no visitation. The cremains will be buried in Montpelier Cemetery, Crawford township, Madison County.

Gertie Hudson was born Jan 6, 1913 in Madison Couney to J. Irvin and Jennie Matilda (Stevens) Wildin. She was a 1930 graduate of Patterson High School. On April 9, 1933, she married Fred M. Hudson in Winterset. They resided in Creston from 1947 to 1979, where Gertie worked as a secretary for the Creston School District from 1965-79, they moved back to Patterson. They also wintered in Arizona for 17 years. She was a member of the Patterson United Methodist Church and member and cofounder of the Hoosier Prairie Club and Creston Cosy Campers.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Lewis and Edwin Wildin; and four sisters, Zelda Buck, Verna Kline Kile, Irma Harpole and Phyllis Pace.

She is survived by one son, Koser Hudson of Niobrara, Neb. three daughters, Jane Schweer of Sargent Bluff, Bonnie Forsyth of Winterset and Susan Jensen of Chehalis, Wash.; two Clarence Wildin of St. Charles and Darrel Wildin of Winterset; and nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel of Winterset.
