Services for Pearl Secrest, 89, Winterset, who died May 2 at Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Sat. May 5 at the Macksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathy Raines. Burial was at the Moon Cemetery at Macksburg.
Born in Madison County on November 10, 1900 she was the daughter of Edwin and Melinda (Cox) Marston. A homemaker, she was married to Everett Secrest on March 8, 1922 in Madison County. She was a lifetime resident of Madison County and lived the past 16 years in Winterset. She was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Thelma Stevens of Winterset; sister, Mable Knox of Eugene, Ore., Velma Babcock of Oaklawn, Ill., Dortha Findley of Joliet, Ill., and Martha Webb of Dexter. seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sons and a brother.
