Terry Comp, 57, of Dayton died Dec. 20, 2004, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday Dec. 23 at the United Methodist Church in Dayton. Visitation will he held from 5-7 p.m. today (Wednesday, Dec. 22) at Carson Funeral Home in Dayton. A private family burial of ashes will be at the Dayton Cemetery.

Terry Comp was born Oct. 20, 1947, in Des Moines to Russell and Helen (Cummins) Comp. He was raised in Winterset, graduating with the Winterset High School class of 1966. Following high school graduation, he attended Centerville Junior College. On Aug. 20, 1967, he was united in marriage to Becky Libby at the Winterset United Methodist Church. He and his wife resided in Winterset,Perry,Knoxville, Des Moines, and Fort Dodge before establishing their home in Dayton in 1980. At the time of his death, Terry was employed by Smithway Motor Xpress Inc. in Fort Dodge as a credit manager. He had previously
worked for I.T.T. Thorpe Financial for over 15 years, and from 1983-1993 for the Bank of America in Fort Dodge. He had served on the Southeast Webster School Board and helped start the Southeast Webster Booster Club. He was a member of the Dayton Golf & Country Club and a former member of the Dayton City Council and Dayton Lions Club

He is survived by his wife, Becky of Dayton; one son, Tony Comp of Dayton; his parents, Russell and Helen Comp of Winterset; a brother, Gary Allen of Winterset; two sisters, Elecia Henke and Valerie Kerns, both of Winterset; and three grandsons.
