12 February 1987Gladys B. Eggleston, 76, of Willmar, Minn., died Wednesday Feb. 11 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar following an extended illness.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Paul Eggleston, one daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Janice) Enockson of Willmar, and two grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Ernest Weeda of Des Moines, Howard Weeda of Manhatten, Kan., Neal Weeda of Afton; and a sister, Mrs. Dean (Lucy) Garland of Des Moines.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the United Methodist Church in Willmar, with Rev. Glenn W. Martin officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery.
Gladys Eggleston was born on July 22, 1910 at Tingley, Iowa, the daughter of Mabel and Gysbert Weeda. She grew up and attended schools at Tingley. Later she attended Normal School and taught school near Tingley. On June 19, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., she was married to Dr. Paul Eggleston. They lived in Weldon, Ia., and Winterset, where he was a physician. In 1970, he retired and they moved to Des Moines and in 1982 they moved to Willmar. She was an active member of her church and the PEO.
