Hubert C. Jones, 84, of Winterset died Feb. 8, 2005 at Banner Baywood Memorial Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 14 at the First Christian Church in Winterset with the Rev. Joan White officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Hubert Jones was born July 31, 1920, in rural Madison County to M. H. "Melvin" and Irene (Evans) Jones. His marriage to Virginia Lee Saum took place Sept. 9, 1941. Hubert farmed his entire life in Scott Township. He had lived in the Winterset area all but three years of his life, which was spent in Creston. He and his wife also wintered many years in Arizona. He was a member of the Winterset First Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia, of Winterset; two daughters, Garnalee Chandler of Winterset and Mindy Dresback of Creston; one son, Rodney Jones of Winterset; a stepsister, Lois Groth of Winterset; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
