Anice Knox Brown, 104, died of a heart ailment Jan. 13, 1999, at Integrated Health Services in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 15, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Pastor Jon Gaul officiating. Burial was at Worthington Cemetery near Earlham in Madison Township.

Anice Brown was born Sept. 12, 1894, to J. H. and Susan (Taylor) Knox of Earlham. She married O. Frank Brown on Sept. 21, 1916, in Madison County. A homemaker, she spent most of her life in Madison County. She lived in Adel from 1944 - 1976 before moving to Winterset. Anice was a member of the Adel Garden Club, various church women's groups and the Worthington United Methodist Church in Madison County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by one daughter, Edith Aichele of Winterset.
