MARGANN McKEE Died Thursday

Death came last Thursday, Aug. 4, 1955, to young Margann McKee of Winterset, after 16 months of struggle against cancer. Her death occurred at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. She was 11 years of age.

Margann was a daughter of Donald and Edith (Miller) McKee of Winterset. She was born in Des Moines Dec. 30, 1943, but her home always in or near Winterset.

She attended the Winterset schools, and was in fifth grade at the North ward during the last term. She was a regular attendant at the Winterset United Presbyterian church, and was active in Girl Scout Troop No. 7 of Winterset.

She became ill in the spring of 1954, and during the months that followed her condidtion grew worse gradually. During the past six months, she had been hospitalized here and in Des Moines much of the time. The child's illness and death aroused the sympathy of the entire community.

The little girl is survived by her parents; her brother and sister, Maurice and Marcia; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Miller and Mr. and Mrs. John McKee, all of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the United Presbyterian Church here, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. S. C. Picken. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
