EARL CLOPTON, Winterset

Services for Robert Earl Clopton, 65, Winterset, who died Oct. 26, 1989 at his residence, were held on Tuesday at the Collins Funeral Home with the Rev. Leonard Leslie officiating. The body was cremated.

Mr. Clopton was born in Winterset, the son of Robert and Bertha Beem Clopton. He was employed as a carpenter for 40 years. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria; sons, Curtis Earl and Craig Russell, both of Winterset; daughters, Bonnie Jean Thomas of Des Moines and Patricia Ann Williams of Winterset; a sister, Cleo Williams of Winterset and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
