Jehiel Wasson was born in Huntington county, Indiana, January 19, 1816 and died at the home of his son in Douglas township, September 10, aged 85 years, 8 months and 22 days. He came to Madison county in 1856. Ten years ago he buried his wife, and he leaves but two children, Levi and Edmond. His funeral services were held at the residence in Douglas township, Thursday afternoon and burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

Death of Mr. Wasson

Jehiel Wasson, an old resident of Madison county, died at the home of his son in Douglas township on September 10th, after an illness extending over more than three months. The deceased was a man more than eighty-five years old and had lived in this county since 1856. He leaves two sons, Levi and Edward. The funeral services were held at the home in Douglas township on Thursday afternoon, Rev. Follansbee officiating. The body was brought to Winterset for interment.

Death of Col. Wasson

Jeheal Wasson died at the home of his son, E. E. Wasson, in Douglas township Sept. 10, 1901 at the age of 85 years 8 months and 22 days. Deceased was born in Huntington county, Indiana Jan. 19th, 1816 and came to Madison county in September 1856.

His wife preceded him to the better land about ten years ago and two sons only survive him, Ed E. and Levi. Colonel Wasson was of course well known as one of the old settlers having lived in this county 45 years. He was a prominent citizen in many ways and was a sort of land mark for many years on account of his age and rugged health. He had been failing rapidly the past year and had been confined to his bed much of the time.

His was a life well and honorably lived and he rounded up his full compliment of years and more. A good life and a long life rob death of all its bitterness. The funeral occurs this afternoon from the residence in Douglas township at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Follansbee. Interment will take place at the Winterset cemetery.
